Hiver

Hiver

Even though it’s been a relatively mild winter so far, I still seem to have the winter blues. Not a fan of cold weather anymore and my winter angst is getting worse with each passing year. With some hard work and some help from the universe I hope to be spending my winters in a much warmer climate soon. Speaking of work.

I’ve ordered the Voiceover gear. Some of it is backordered so I opted to wait and have it all delivered at one time. In the meantime, my plan is to watch the AudibleACX Voiceover Masterclass on YouTube, write some scripts that I can record for audio samples, research copyright laws to see if I can use some technical manuals in my recordings (for variety), and research other Voiceover marketplaces to see where I might fit in best. Incidentally, AudibleACX is Amazon’s audio book publishing arm and includes (obviously) both resources for narrators and a portal for narrators to find work. My plan is to be up and running in mid March.

I’m still plugging away at the editing of my short story Decay. It’s not that the editing is hard, it’s the damn procrastination bug I can’t seem to get rid of. If only they could come up with a vaccine. Also, I’d still like to write a screenplay but I can’t seem to zero in on an idea I like. Not sure if that’s just the aforementioned procrastination bug or maybe just the fear that I don’t have an idea worthy of putting all the time and effort into. Could also be that I’m a talentless hack (shrug). Regarding my docuseries project Beyond the Smoke, I didn’t have any options in the new pitch schedule posted on Stage32 this week and I haven’t been able to update the pitch on the TV Writer’s Vault. I have a support ticket in and they don’t seem to be in much of a hurry to address it. As long as I keep moving forward I guess.

On a personal note, it amazes me how the people closest to you always seem to be the ones that try and pop your balloon, piss in your cheerios, rain on your parade, shit on your lawn…OK, I’ll stop now.

Once again, thanks for stopping by!
