Spring?

Spring?

It’s starting to look and feel like spring here on the NH Seacoast. I know it’s only the end of February, however I am hopeful that the worst of the winter (which actually wasn’t that bad overall) is over with.

Well, the headshots are in the can, so to speak. The photo shoot was yesterday and we should have some proofs to look over in the next week and a half. Expect to see my smiling face peering out from the home page in a couple of weeks. I’ll also be using the pics to build my profile on voiceover talent pages, pitch decks, and for background actor representation agencies. Moving forward.

In a previous blog I noted that the voiceover gear has been ordered but was back ordered until the beginning of March however, I just got word that it has shipped out and will be here by the end of the week. I’ve been lax as far as setting up for the recording of samples so I’ll have to get going on that. Damn procrastination bug again! Once the gear comes in I’ll be sound proofing my recording space, putting the hardware together, and getting set up on Adobe Audition. The nice thing about setting up sample voice tracks is that it will give me some experience utilizing the equipment and software.

I’ve come to a decision about what I’ll be writing for my first screenplay. Like most of my ideas for movies and other types of stories, this idea has been rattling around in my head for a couple of years. When I distill the idea down a bit more I’ll give you the logline which, if I write it correctly will spell it out for you nicely. Speaking of short stories, I’m still editing the story Decay. The irritating thing is that I’m loving the editing process, it’s the getting my carcass in front of the laptop to actually do it that seems to be the damn problem. I don’t even understand why, but there it is.

Slim pickings for pitch listings on Stage32 this week to advance my Beyond the Smoke project. I’m also still waiting on a confirmation that the updated pitch for the project has been approved and confirmed on the TV Writer’s Vault. I’ll assume that it’ll be sometime this week and if I haven’t heard back by Friday morning, I’ll be following up. Incidentally, the management agency rep that wanted more information about the project from my previous pitch on Stage32 is still pending. As is usual, I’m overly optimistic.

Thanks again for reading. Be well!
