Beyond the Smoke*
Firefighters do so much more than respond to fires, rescue cats from trees, and drive a big red truck. Beyond the Smoke goes behind the scenes to explore the jobs and lives of firefighters set against the backdrop of their local
cultures here in the U.S. and around the world.
In each hour-long episode of this docuseries, a retired fire chief explores a new city around the world through the eyes of its firefighters. It’ll touch on the history of the Fire Service in the city, the challenges unique to its area, cultural considerations that may affect the response to those challenges, along with any specialized equipment used.
